The first Friends of
the Earth recycling guide consisted of 3 sheets of paper in 1988! There were 4
bottle banks, no can banks, and a few charities and individuals collecting
scrap paper. Now, in 2007, you will see a huge and welcome expansion in
possibilities and opportunities! We have tried to make climate change and what
you can do to help the focus of this booklet. All we need to do is get
ourselves, families, and neighbourhoods more involved to keep Shrewsbury green and special. You will notice
that items appear in more than one section sometimes, that’s because of the
interconnected nature of everything. Our environment is global – boundaries are
artificial. Everything we do, every choice we make, affects everyone and
everywhere and everything.
